HSUHK welcomes new academic staff

25 August 2025

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), the Human Resources Office, and the Office of Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) organised the HSUHK Induction Programme on 18 and 25 August 2025 for new academic staff members, providing them with a comprehensive overview of the teaching and learning environment at the University.

President Simon Ho shared the latest developments and initiatives at HSUHK, and Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research); Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience); and Dr Josiah Chan, Vice-President (Organisational Development) delivered presentations on academic and research advancement, teaching and learning experiences, as well as campus governance and wellness.

To revitalise teaching practices, share best practices, introduce innovative approaches to enhance student learning, as well as equip new and current academic teaching staff with effective instructional strategies for the 2025-26 academic year, CTL organised a series of seminars themed “Teaching Excellence in New Semester: Refresh, Recharge, and Renew” as part of the two-day Induction Programme. Seminars were held on teaching and learning topics including generative AI in education, VR metaverse platforms for teaching and learning, exploring innovative multimedia tools, SEN support services, service-learning and classroom management.
