The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Human Resources Office, and Office of Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) organised the HSUHK Induction Programme for new academic staff members at HSUHK, to provide new teachers with a comprehensive overview of the University’s teaching and learning environment.
At the event, President Simon Ho shared the latest developments at HSUHK, and Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience), and Dr Tom Fong, former Vice-President (Organisational Development) held presentations on teaching and learning, research, graduate attributes, and campus wellness.
To kickstart the new semester for the 2024-25 academic year, CTL organised a series of teaching and learning seminars themed ‘’Teaching Excellence in New Semester: Refresh, Recharge, and Renew’’ as part of the two-day Induction Programme. These seminars were carried out with the aim to revitalise teaching practices, share best practices, and introduce innovative approaches to enhance student learning, as well as equip new and current academic teaching staff with effective instructional strategies for the upcoming academic year. Seminar topics included metaverse and generative AI in education, authentic assessments, and innovative experiential and problem-based learning.
