HSUHK showcases advanced AI technology at Information Day

15 November 2025

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held its Information Day today (15 November) to invite applications for the 2026-27 academic year. The event featured admission talks and workshops to equip prospective students with the latest information about the University. Attendees included secondary school students, senior-year students, non-local Mainland JEE applicants, and their parents. A number of students also applied and completed assessments on-site.

Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) of HSUHK and Mr Ng Po-shing, Student Guidance Consultant at Hok Yau Club, led an interactive seminar titled “Future vs Prestige: How to choose?”. The session explored student admission trends, common pitfalls in choosing educational paths and strategies to avoid them, as well as the role of parents in guiding their children’s decisions, among other topics. Professor Mok noted, “HSUHK ranks 157th in the Greater China region and 253rd in the East Asia region in the latest QS Asia University Rankings 2026. The University climbed approximately 40 places in the overall Asia university rankings, demonstrating steady improvement across various indicators. Standout results were observed in multiple assessment metrics, including citations per paper, research impact, international students’ ratio, and inbound and outbound exchange students’ ratio, underscoring the University’s outstanding achievements and growing influence.”

The event featured over 30 themed trial lessons and interactive workshops, alongside programme exhibitions, student life tours, admission talks, and campus tours. Visitors also experienced HSUHK’s latest AI technology and applications through live demonstrations, including AI-powered music creation that sparks inspiration; ExpoDrone — an intelligent AI drone inspection system for exhibitions; an interactive robot dog functioning as a teaching assistant; and geotechnology that safeguards home care.

In the 2026-27 academic year, HSUHK will offer a total of 26 undergraduate and 22 taught postgraduate programmes, as well as its first professional doctorate programme. Additionally, several undergraduate programmes at HSUHK qualify for the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors in Hong Kong (SSSDP), including Art and Design, Supply Chain Management, Management Science and Information Management, Actuarial Studies and Insurance, Applied Computing, Data Science and Business Intelligence. New and continuing students of SSSDP programmes who meet the eligibility criteria will receive the subsidy.
