The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) and Yazhou Zhoukan held a symposium titled “Dr Sun Yat-sen’s Inspiration for Global Development” on 12 March 2025. The symposium commemorated the 100th anniversary of Dr Sun Yat-sen’s passing and brought together nearly 100 participants, including prominent experts and figures, such as historians, researchers in the field of politics, leaders in culture and education, and international relations experts, as well as students and members of the public, to reflect on Dr Sun’s contributions and influence. The symposium also fostered discussions among experts from different fields on Dr Sun Yat-sen’s intellectual legacy and its implications for contemporary global development.
Professor Simon Ho, President of HSUHK; Professor Kao Lang, Director of Centre for Greater China Studies of HSUHK; Mr Yau Lop-poon, Yazhou Zhoukan’s Editor-in-Chief; Professor Lee Kam-keung, Emeritus Professor of the Department of History at Hong Kong Baptist University; Mr David Lie, Chairman of the China New Era Foundation; Mr Luo Xiangxi, Secretary-General of the China Review Think Tank Foundation; and Dr Chou Yangsun, Chairman of the Chinese Current Cultural and Education Foundation, also attended the event. The symposium also featured a discussion session during which attendees engaged in deep exchanges about the modern applications of Dr Sun’s ideas.
