12 July 2024
Funded by the Youth Mainland Exchange and Cooperation Scheme, and co-organised by the Home Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission, the HSUHK GBA Career Exploration Tour – Guangzhou, was held from 8 to 12 July 2024. This was the first Greater Bay Area (GBA) career exploration tour held by HSUHK with the support of the Guangzhou Human Resources Market Service Centre.
The tour focused on the theme of innovation and entrepreneurship. By visiting entrepreneurial incubation centres, including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base, the Guangzhou Tianhe Hong Kong and Macau Youth Association Headquarters, and the TIMETABLE·Tianyin plaza, students gained insight into the environment, culture, and support system in Guangzhou for entrepreneurship. The centres also arranged sharing sessions, enabling HSUHK students to interact with Hong Kong entrepreneurs in Guangdong, who shared their career development experiences and entrepreneurial perspectives.
Additionally, the tour group also visited the Guangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Centre, the Guangdong Museum, the Guangzhou Fushan Circular Economic Industrial Park, a variety of well-known corporations, as well as a live-streaming e-commerce base, providing HSUHK students with a comprehensive understanding of Guangzhou’s history and culture, innovative technology, market trends, and the advantages of integrated development in the GBA from different perspectives.
