An HSUHK delegation, led by President Professor Simon S M Ho, visited Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT), Guangdong University of Science and Technology (GDUST), and EtonHouse (Laguna Verona) Foreign Language School Dongguan (EtonHouse) in March 2024.
On 18 March, the delegation, joined by Mr Eddie Leung, Founder and Managing Director of Dailywin Watch Group, and Mr Sidney Wong, Executive President of Dailywin Institute of DGUT, visited DGUT and was welcomed by Professor Ma Hongwei, President of DGUT; Professor Yang Minlin, Vice-President; and DGUT’s senior management. Both universities’ recent developments were discussed in the meeting.
Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between HSUHK and the Dailywin Institute of DGUT in December 2023, the HSUHK delegation also visited the Dailywin Institute of DGUT’s new campus in Daojiao. HSUHK hopes to establish an office on the new campus upon its inauguration in October 2024, to serve as a joint platform to further develop talent in the region.
On 19 March, the delegation visited GDUST’s Songshan Campus, and was received by Professor Liang Ruixiong, President of GDUST; Professor Zhou Eryong, Executive Vice-President; and GDUST’s senior management team. Both parties gave an overview of their recent developments and overseas exchange projects. President Ho and President Ruixiong signed an MoU, which will leverage the unique strengths of HSUHK and GDUST by exploring a variety of joint initiatives and nurturing talent in the era of technological innovation.
Joined by Mr Jonathan Lai, Chief Principal of the Affiliated School of Jinan University for Hong Kong and Macau Students Dongguan, the HSUHK delegation also visited the EtonHouse (Laguna Verona) Foreign Language School Dongguan. The delegation led a fruitful discussion on facilitating Mainland students’ pursuit of further studies at HSUHK.
