HSUHK co-hosted an international research symposium themed “Innovative Paths to Quality Higher Education in Asia: Reform, Risks and Reinventions for a Sustainable Future” with National Chengchi University in Taiwan and the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan on 17 October 2025. The event brought together scholars from across Asia to address pressing challenges in higher education, including quality assurance, digital transformation, and integrating Sustainable Development Goals into education.
Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) and Dean of the Graduate School at HSUHK, delivered a keynote speech titled “Epistemic Justice in International Higher Education: Experiences of African Students in China”, urging a rethinking of internationalisation to embrace diverse knowledge and student experiences.
The symposium provided a vital platform for sharing research and fostering collaboration, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing innovative and sustainable higher education across the region.
