The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held its 45th Anniversary Reception cum 10th Anniversary Celebration of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong – Foundation today (13 March), attracting more than 400 guests, including Legislative Councillors, District Councillors, members of the founding families, donors, business and community leaders, consuls general, university partners, members of the Board of Governors and the Council, staff, students and alumni.

In her welcoming address, Ms Diana Cesar, Chairman of the Board of Governors, said “HSUHK’s unique ‘Liberal + Professional’ model has empowered our students to excel in their pursuits. Our commitment to excellence is demonstrated through our state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities. We are also actively advancing our sustainability initiatives. Our innovative programmes and impactful research have garnered regional and international recognition, addressing societal challenges and contributing to community well-being.”

This year also marked the 10th anniversary of the HSUHK-Foundation. Dr Moses Cheng, Chairman of the Council, expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support and contributions of the HSUHK – Foundation towards the University’s development, stating “The dedication of the Foundation members over the past decade has significantly enriched the University’s educational environment and has ensured that our students are always equipped with the best possible opportunities to excel.” He also emphasised that HSUHK will continue to uphold its core values including integrity, resilience and collaboration, which will shape a brighter future for the University’s development.

To celebrate its 45th anniversary, HSUHK will organise a series of events throughout the year, including an Anniversary Concert at Hong Kong City Hall in September, and a Green Run/Walk in December. Various University units will also host numerous international conferences, exhibitions, competitions, and carnivals, to create a celebratory environment while fostering collaboration within the University community.
