Students from the School of Communication (SCOM) excelled in the 2025 Campus News Awards organised by China Daily (Hong Kong Edition). Two teams of Year 4 students saw their works published in the School’s Enlightenment Post and received top honours.
The Gold Award for “Best Culture and Arts News Reporting” was awarded to students Tsui Yan-pui and Chan Ka-wing for “Cantonese Graffiti in Hong Kong: Art in Urban Public Spaces”. The judge stated that the article added unique perspectives from sociology and psychology in exploring the phenomenon of Cantonese street graffiti. The Merit Award for “Best News Page Design” was awarded to students Yun King-hei, Ho Wai-kwan, Kam Yui-man and Cheng Lok-yiu for “‘Guzi Economy’ Hits Hong Kong: How Secondary Culture Creates Business Opportunities”.
