Module Description
The aim of the module is to provide a chance for students to integrate and extend their

learning and knowledge by identifying the areas of interest in MSIM. Students are

required to work in teams, to develop their expertise and creativity by identifying a topic

of research, which can integrate management science and information management

knowledge. They have to consolidate and critically analyse their findings and present in

the form of a software and/or written report.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. design a creative research project that integrates management science and information management knowledge to solve a business problem;

  2. critically evaluate and synthesize theories/models and relevant information in management science and information management to develop feasible solution(s);

  3. apply advanced analytical methods (e.g. modelling techniques) and information technology (e.g. software tools) to analyse feasible solution(s);

  4. interpret research findings, make recommendations and draw appropriate conclusions;

  5. apply effective project management through the setting of research goals and intermediate milestones as well as the prioritisation of activities, and reflect on the progress;

  6. compile a Research Project Report with/without a software demonstration and effectively communicate major research findings.
