Module Description
This module aims to provide students with an overview of the interaction between computing and humanities, with a focus in Chinese culture. It introduces the theory and the development of digital humanities, e.g., how printed texts and reading practices are transformed by digital technologies. Technical trainings on development skills are provided to let students get experience on developing human-centred applications related to Chinese culture.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  • Understand the development of digital humanities in modern society;

  • Describe specific challenges of digital humanities development in Chinese culture;

  • Understand the programming techniques for digital humanities in Chinese culture; and

  • Design and implement application related to Chinese culture
