HSUHK holds Chi Wah Foundation Lecture Hall Naming Ceremony

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held an Appreciation and Naming Ceremony on 27 July 2026 to name a lecture hall in the Creative Humanities Hub as the “Chi Wah Foundation Lecture Hall” in gratitude for a generous donation from the Chi Wah Foundation, established by Dr Colin Lam, to support the University’s continuous development and talent cultivation initiatives.

The ceremony was officiated by Dr Colin Lam, Chairman of the Chi Wah Foundation; Ms Wu Rina, Vice-Chairman; Mr Pan Xubo, Consultant; Dr Moses Cheng, Council Chairman of HSUHK; Dr Patrick Poon, Governor and Chairman of the Fundraising and Donation Committee; and Professor Simon S M Ho, President of HSUHK.

In his remarks, Dr Cheng praised the Foundation’s longstanding support for education in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland, embodying the philosophy of nurturing talent for the long term.

Dr Lam highlighted HSUHK’s unique “Liberal + Professional” education model and reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to fostering youth with national identity, global vision, and social responsibility.

President Ho expressed gratitude for the donation’s role in advancing the University’s teaching, research, and campus development.  

The officiating guests jointly unveiled the Chi Wah Foundation Lecture Hall plaque, followed by a tour of innovative projects at the School of Decision Sciences and the Martin Ka Shing Lee Innovation Lab.

HSUHK presents student’s handwritten Chinese calligraphy couplet as a token of appreciation.
More than 60 teachers and students from Chinese Mainland secondary schools supported by the Chi Wah Foundation attend the ceremony.
