The Student Affairs Office, supported by the Shanghai Changning Overseas Friendship Association and the Yiwu Overseas Friendship Association, led 30 students on an eight-day Career Exploration Tour to Shanghai, Yiwu, and Hangzhou. The programme explored innovation and technology, e-commerce, and logistics, offering insights into Chinese Mainland industry ecosystems and career paths.
In Shanghai, visits to Westwell, DSV China, and Shanghai Youbao showcased smart logistics, green transformation, and cross-border supply chains. Students also toured Columbia Circle and Yuyuan Road Cultural Block to see urban renewal that integrates new economies with lifestyle aesthetics.
In Yiwu, participants discussed current e-commerce and logistics trends, met young entrepreneurs at the HK–Macao–Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base, and visited the Former Residence of Chen Wangdao and Fotang Ancient Town to reflect on academic spirit, cultural heritage, community renewal, and industrial change.
The tour ended in Hangzhou with a visit to Alibaba headquarters, highlighting advances in the platform economy and digital technologies. Participating students produced short summary videos to share their experience with the wider HSUHK community.
