To celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held a flag-raising ceremony this morning. Led by the HSUHK Student Flag-raising Group, the ceremony was attended by over 250 members of HSUHK’s management, staff and students.
Chan Ching-lok, a student in the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Actuarial Studies and Insurance programme and a member of the HSUHK Student Flag-raising Group, said “In secondary school, I was a member of the Guard of Honour in the Civil Aid Service Cadet Corps, which was responsible for the flag-raising ceremony. I am delighted to share my skills and past experience with other team members at HSUHK, and continue my passion and commitment to the nation as we strive for excellence together.”
Fellow group member, Luo Juexuan, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology student, expressed that the national flag is a symbol of the country, and that she is proud to be a member of the Student Flag-raising Group to honour and protect the symbol.
