The Honours Academy (HA) hosted its 4th Symposium on 29 April 2025, showcasing interdisciplinary, policy-driven research conducted by senior HA students. This year’s nine student projects explored a wide range of timely and impactful themes, ranging from enhancing public transportation efficiency to leveraging creativity for mental health and community engagement to examining the intersections of culture, technology, and urban development.
Robert Chan received the “Best Individual Presenter” awarded for his data-driven study analysing buses delays caused by congestion. The “Best Group Presenters” award was granted to Ocean Ng and Rachael Yip, whose research examined how governments can subtly shape personal lifestyles while promoting civic virtues.
In her remarks, Professor Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience), encouraged the young researchers to consider how their findings could contribute to decision-making, influence policy, and ultimately enhance lives. Dr Holly Chung, Head of HA, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the supervisors for their unwavering support, mentorship, and dedication, which were instrumental in guiding students towards research excellence and meaningful impact.
