HSUHK delegates exchange views on AI application and research with professors in GBA

28 April 2025

Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), alongside HSUHK delegates, attended an international conference co-hosted by Guangdong University of Science and Technology and Macau Millennium College on digital economy-driven business, finance and information technology.

At the conference, Dr John Leung, Associate Vice-President (Knowledge Exchange), highlighted that HSUHK is the pioneer among institutions in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to allow students to use Generative AI as a learning aid. Taking the perspective from the industry, Dr Kenneth Kwong, Co-Director of Chinese Family Succession Research Centre, noted that family offices not only act as investors but also leverage Generative AI and machine learning to preserve family values and pass on to next generations. Meanwhile, Professor Gavin Chau, Co-Director of Centre for Quality Standard and Management, raised questions about AI to make business decisions.

Over hundred teachers from the higher institutions in GBA attend the conference.
