Arts@HSUHK hosted the photography exhibition ‘Ukraine: A Love Story’ at the G/F Gallery of Lee Quo Wei Academic Building, Yuen Campus, from 9 February to 30 March 2023.
National Geographic award-winning photographer, Dominic Chiu, went to Ukraine to document the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia in May 2022. Speaking of his experience, he said “It was my first time working inside a war zone as a photographer, and to see what the war did to people living there was an experience I can hardly put into words”. He hopes that through his photos, viewers can get a glimpse into the horrors of war and more importantly, the love that the people in Ukraine shared in their darkest hour.
Alongside presenting his stories of love and humanity in Ukraine’s war zones, he was also invited to share his work as a freelance photographer and financial services professional at the College Assembly on 9 February 2023.
