Professor Tso is the Dean of School of Communication and at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK). She joined HSMC in 2008 after serving more than seven years as Head of the Department of Journalism and Communication at Hong Kong Chu Hai College of Higher Education.
As Dean of the School of Communication, Professor Tso has been actively engaging the School in academic exchange activities with major universities in Taiwan and the Mainland, such as Fudan University, Sun Yat-Sen University, National Chengchi University and Fu Jen Catholic University.
Professor Tso has extensive experience in the news and media industries in Hong Kong, the UK and Taiwan.  She was a senior reporter and primetime news anchor of Hong Kong Asia Television Limited (ATV).  While pursuing her graduate studies in the UK, she has worked as a Special Correspondent for Hong Kong ATV and a Chinese News Presenter and Foreign News Editor for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).  She has also worked as a host and a commentator of various TV and radio programs in Taiwan for over five years.
Professor Tso is an active member of many professional organizations.  She is an Executive Member of Hong Kong Press Council and Vice Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Federation of Journalists.
Professor Tso holds a BA in Journalism and Communication from the Hong Kong Chu Hai College, a MA degree in Social and Economic Development from the University of Essex, United Kingdom, a PhD in Crisis Management and Communication from the Chu Hai University, Taiwan, and a PhD in Faculty of Education from The University of Hong Kong.
