Welcome to the BBA (Honours) in Corporate Governance and Compliance Programme (BBA-CGC) of The Hang
Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), which is offered in response to the rising demand for corporate
governance and compliance professionals. In recent years, the business community has become aware of
the fact that corporate governance laws, compliance regulations and good practices are central to Hong
Kong¡¦s economic lifeline. The Programme was launched in 2014. I am delighted to see our graduates
well sought after by prestigious professional firms and renowned listed companies. Some of our alumni
have also earned professional qualifications or decided to pursue postgraudate studies. I am confident
that our BBA-CGC will respond to the demand of the business community for professional and ethical

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES ½Òµ{¥Ø¼Ð
The Programme aims at providing students with necessary knowledge so that graduates are prepared for career
development as corporate governance and compliance professionals. Upon completion of the BBA-CGC, graduates
will be able to develop a good understanding of the laws and regulations in corporate governance and assist
the board of directors in implementing an effective compliance system. Our goal is to nurture graduates with entrepreneurial
spirit and a strong foundation in laws, regulations and the practice of compliance.

The BBA-CGC provides a solid foundation for graduates who wish to continue their academic studies at the Master¡¦s level. Some of
our graduates have gone on to pursue MBA (Master of Business Administration), MAcc (Master of Accountancy), and MCG (Master
of Corporate Governance) degrees from leading universities in Hong Kong, Australia, and the United Kingdom. In addition, graduates
who have completed accredited MCG programmes may get exemptions from professional qualification examinations, subject to the
fulfilment of requirements.

activities and detecting financial crimes including money laundering. As a result, there is an increasing demand for qualified personnel

HSUHK is the first self-financing institution to adopt elements of a Residential College approach. The new Residential

SCHOLARSHIPS ¼ú¾Çª÷
HSUHK offers a wide range of scholarships/awards to its students for rewarding and recognising high calibre students
with outstanding performances in both academic and non-academic aspects, as well as supporting students to
broaden their exposure to multicultural environment. With the generous support from the government and donors,
there are increasing scholarship opportunities at HSUHK. In 2018/19 there were nearly 1,500 scholarships and
awards, with the total value more than HK$17.2 million. In addition, the Rose W M Lee Entrance Scholarships are
established exclusively for new BBA-CGC Year 1 and Year 3 students.

What are the career options for graduates?
§¹¦¨¦¹½Òµ{«á¡A²¦·~¥Í¦³¦ó¥X¸ô ?
There is a rising demand for corporate governance and compliance professionals
in recent years. Graduates would have a wide range of career options, such as
company secretaries, corporate administrators, compliance officers, accountants
and management trainees, etc. According to the global recruitment consultancy
Michael Page, the starting annual salary for a company secretarial assistant is
around HK$140 K - 250 K (with 0 - 2 years of working experience). As for a
company secretary with over 15 years of working experience, the annual salary
could be HK$1 million depending on the type of work.
