29 October 2020

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) is honoured to partner with AIA Group (AIA) to offer our students scholarships to complete their undergraduate studies. AIA has pledged US$100 million to establish the ‘AIA Scholarships’ which will support 100 undergraduates attending Hong Kong’s universities each year over the next several decades. President Simon Ho and Dr Tom Fong, Vice-President (Organisational Development) attended the launching ceremony today; whilst the Guest of Honour was Dr Moses Cheng, HSUHK Council Chairman and Chairman of the Insurance Authority.

Mr Yuan-siong Lee, AIA Group Chief Executive and President, said, “The AIA Scholarships are a major investment in Hong Kong and reflect AIA’s great confidence in the future of the city and its young people.”

AIA is partnering with HSUHK and nine other local universities to deliver the programme. Applicants of any academic disciplines offered by these universities can apply for the scholarships. Successful applicants will receive an award of HK$50,000 each year throughout their undergraduate study. The scholarship programme will be executed by the AIA Foundation in close collaboration with the partnering universities.
