II. Terms of Reference<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Senior Management Committee (SMC) advises the President on matters relating to the strategic planning and development as well as management of the University. When deem appropriate and necessary by the President, the Committee will act collectively on such matters,<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To ensure the effective leadership and management of the University;<\/li>\n
  2. To develop\/implement strategic and operation plans and associated financial plans for the University;<\/li>\n
  3. To develop\/implement University policies and associated procedures in financial planning and control, resource allocation and staffing matters;<\/li>\n
  4. To endorse financial proposals including the annual university budget, adjustment to remuneration package and tuition fee level of all undergraduate programmes, and to make appropriate recommendations to the Finance Committee and\/ or Council;<\/li>\n
  5. To approve Residential College fees and related charges, tuition fee level of all taught postgraduate programmes which are within the Council\u2019s approved minimum benchmark fee level, and other fees deemed appropriate as advised by the President;<\/li>\n
  6. To approve the establishment and naming of administrative and academic support units, as well as naming of on-\/off-campus facilities;<\/li>\n
  7. To approve resource implications of new academic units\/centres as approved by the Academic Board;<\/li>\n
  8. To approve annual budget proposals including new headcount\/ space resources planning, and major renovation as recommended by the Resources Allocation Committee; and<\/li>\n
  9. To provide advice on any matters as referred by the President and undertake any other tasks as requested by the President.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
