This module provides an understanding of the key concept of public affairs and governance, and its applicability to the relevant issues in Hong Kong. This module focuses on a multidisciplinary training in theory and relevant analytical skills with practical application in the field of public affairs, public policy and governance. It aims to equip students with the concepts and skills essential to public policy, planning and management activities within government.  Using related theories and skills, students will be competent in analyzing the characteristics of public affairs and be capable of planning, organizing, leading and evaluating activities and formulating policies to govern the public affairs.

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

1. understand the concepts and theories of public affairs and governance;


2. critically analyse and evaluate public policy;


3. apply related knowledge and skills in local context; and


4. develop public policy plans and strategies to address the challenges of public affairs.
