He highlights that the strategies outlined in the Five-Year Plan\u2014such as strengthening the four centres, expediting the development of the Northern Metropolis, deepening the development of the Greater Bay Area and global partnership networks, advancing quality education, and reforming the healthcare system\u2014are visionary and strategic. These initiatives provide a broad blueprint for Hong Kong\u2019s long-term economic and social progress while aligning with the National 15th Five-Year Plan and facilitating Hong Kong&#8217;s deeper integration into overall national development.<\/p><p>President Mok also welcomes the Policy Address\u2019s support for higher education, including accelerating the development of the \u201cUniversity Town\u201d in the Northern Metropolis, encouraging Industry-academia-research collaboration across institutions, promoting the \u201cStudy in Hong Kong\u201d brand, increasing quotas under the \u201cHong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme\u201d, expanding the supply of student hostels, and fostering the growth of the innovation and technology sector. He believes these measures will strengthen Hong Kong\u2019s position as an international post-secondary education hub, support talent development and drive economic growth. He hopes the Government will provide more tangible support for self-financing universities to participate in the \u201cUniversity Town\u201d development, and looks forward to HSUHK\u2019s involvement in the initiative, including the provision of new academic and research programmes in partnership with leading universities worldwide.<\/p><p>Additionally, President Mok supports the Policy Address\u2019s recommendations to advance the widespread use of artificial intelligence, as well as improvements in healthcare services, social welfare and youth development. He notes that HSUHK is actively developing new health and social care programmes and is committed to research on integrating healthcare and social care.
