The School of Business (SBUS) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) has been recognised as a Level 3 \u201cProgressing School\u201d in the 2026 Positive Impact Rating (PIR), announced on 22 June 2026. This recognition affirms that the SBUS\u2019s business education framework, centred on responsibility, inclusiveness and social impact, has received international recognition.<\/p>

The PIR is a global assessment initiative for business schools, drawing on feedback from nearly 20,000 students and over\u00a01,000 faculty and staff across 32 countries. It supports\u00a0institutions in evaluating their societal impact and enhancing\u00a0their sustainability strategies. In 2026, a total of 131 business schools worldwide took part in the assessment, of which\u00a087 schools (approximately 66%) awarded Level 3 or above.<\/p>

HSUHK SBUS attained Level 3 in its first participation, demonstrating strengths across multiple areas. The PIR assessment covers eight dimensions: Governance, Culture, Programmes, Learning Methods, Student Support, Institution as a Role Model, Public Engagement, and Research. The results show that SBUS not only advocates positive social values but also\u00a0effectively embeds these principles into its policies and practices.<\/p>

Professor Sam Park, Dean of SBUS and Distinguished University Professor at HSUHK, said, \u201cMy heartfelt thanks to our\u00a0faculty, staff\u00a0and students for their dedication and contributions to advancing sustainability\u00a0and socially responsible education. This PIR recognition lays a solid foundation for SBUS to further deepen its impact-driven education.\u201d<\/p>

The PIR comprises five levels, in ascending order: Beginning School, Emerging School, Progressing School, Transforming School, and Pioneering School.<\/p>
