The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held its Honorary University Fellowship Conferment Ceremony 2026 on campus today (25 March), bestowing honorary university fellowships on three outstanding individuals in recognition of their remarkable achievements in their professional fields, as well as their contributions to society and the University. The three recipients are: renowned business leader Ms Stella Fung Siu-wan, prominent industrialist Mr Alan Li Pui-leung, and eminent entrepreneur Mr Lim Soon-tiong. The Ceremony was officiated by Ms Luanne Lim, Chairman of the Board of Governors of HSUHK, and Dr the Hon Moses Cheng Mo-chi, Chairman of the HSUHK Council.<\/p>

In his opening address, Professor Simon S M Ho, President of HSUHK, praised the three Honorary University Fellows for their dedication, leadership, and service, which align closely with the University\u2019s mission and aspirations. He stated, \u201cMs Fung demonstrates how principled leadership and compassion can create lasting social impact. Mr Li personifies professional excellence coupled with service to the public good. Mr Lim reminds us that education transcends borders, and that intercultural understanding is essential in shaping responsible global citizens. This Ceremony is more than a celebration of individual achievements; it reaffirms the core values that define HSUHK and our broader community.\u201d President Ho added that the Honorary University Fellows\u2019 contributions and examples further strengthen HSUHK\u2019s mission and bring its vision to life more vividly.\u00a0<\/p>

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Mr Alan Li emphasised, \u201cOur extensive experience in business and public service has only reinforced a core conviction: education is the foundation for enriching lives and building a thriving society. It goes far beyond imparting knowledge; it is a guiding light that shapes character, unlocks potential, and kindles hope. Individual achievements, however impressive, are finite. True and lasting impact comes from passing on knowledge and cultivating abilities, ensuring that humanistic values endure and flourish across generations. This belief lies at the heart of HSUHK\u2019s mission, and we wholeheartedly affirm it.\u201d Mr Li also highlighted HSUHK\u2019s unique \u201cLiberal + Professional\u201d education model, which produces graduates with global vision and compassionate humanistic care, driving sustained momentum for Hong Kong\u2019s prosperity, stability, and the nation\u2019s advancement. He expressed unwavering support for this enduring commitment.<\/p>
