The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held the Inclusion Festival from 23 to 27 February, aiming to promote inclusion and fostering greater understanding and acceptance of individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, as well as those with special learning needs.<\/p>

The Festival featured an inclusive dance performance by Mr Matthew Yu and Ms Pandora Choi, representatives of the China Hong Kong Wheelchair Dance Sport Association. Using the stage as a medium for expression, the two performers vividly conveyed the values of inclusion through powerful and energetic para dance movements. They were later joined by Ms Ho Hei-man, a para dance sport coach, for a sharing session, during which they spoke about the daily lives of wheelchair users and shared their experiences in training and rehearsing para dance performances. The session enabled participants to gain a more authentic appreciation of inclusion between people with and without disabilities.<\/p>

This year\u2019s Festival was co-organised by the University\u2019s Human Resources Office, the Library, and the Student Affairs Office. The programme featured a wide range of diverse and interactive experiential activities, such as guide dog introductions, Indian henna painting, a floral aroma stone workshop, and an online session introducing Hong Kong\u2019s anti-discrimination ordinances. Through hands-on participation and exchanges, staff and students were encouraged to reflect more deeply on the meaning of inclusion.<\/p>

Beyond enriching campus cultural life, the Festival also underscored HSUHK\u2019s strong commitment to promoting cultural diversity and social inclusion, demonstrating the University\u2019s dedication to fostering a respectful and inclusive campus culture. It encouraged members of the University community to embrace differences with respect and openness, and to work together to build a harmonious and inclusive campus environment.<\/p>
