22 January 2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

On 22 January 2026, the Centre for Teaching and Learning, in collaboration with the Student Affairs Office, organised the interactive workshop \u201cRiding on the ADHD Learning Curve\u201d. The event enhanced academic and administrative staff\u2019s understanding of the needs of students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). <\/u><\/p>\n<\/u>

<\/u>The workshop featured two main components: a keynote presentation delivered by Mr Vergo Cheng, a registered and accredited educational psychologist, and an engaging panel discussion. In his presentation, Mr Cheng explored the core characteristics of ADHD and their impact on executive functioning. Participants gained insights into everyday academic challenges faced by students with ADHD, such as time management, organisation and concentration. They also received actionable recommendations for designing ADHD-friendly learning environments and adapting curriculum approaches to better accommodate neurodiverse learners.<\/p>\n

During the panel discussion moderated by Dr Janice Wong, Lecturer from the School of Communication and a Special Educational Needs coordinator at HSUHK, two local university students with ADHD shared their personal experiences and challenges, and discussed effective strategies that have helped them thrive academically.  <\/p>\n

Through expert insights, real-life perspectives, and interactive elements, attendees left the workshop better prepared to implement supportive measures in their teaching, advising and administrative roles, helping to foster a more inclusive educational environment at HSUHK.  <\/p>\n
