The School of Business (SBUS) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Leadership and Management Foundation Limited (ILM), a non-profit organisation. This partnership aims\u00a0to provide\u00a0skills training and resources to help ethnic minority youth overcome systemic barriers and succeed in their academic and professional endeavors.<\/p>

Under this partnership, SBUS will deliver a series of career development workshops\u00a0and resources tailored to career exploration, goal setting, and pathways to higher education. These initiatives aim\u00a0to help students\u00a0map out their career plans and develop actionable strategies to achieve their goals. SBUS and ILM will promote educational and social inclusion by organising sharing sessions, mentorship opportunities, and\u00a0community-driven projects. This collaboration underscores SBUS\u2019s\u00a0commitment to social equity and inclusive education, aligning seamlessly with ILM\u2019s mission to unleash the potential of marginalised youth.<\/p>

Mr Ricky Lam, Associate Dean (Enterprise and Business Engagement) of SBUS said, \u201cEducation is the cornerstone of social mobility. Through this initiative, we aspire to transform the future of students while cultivating a diverse and equitable environment that nurtures talents, thereby enhancing Hong Kong\u2019s competitiveness.\u201d<\/p>

Ms Luisa Tan Castro, Founder of ILM,\u00a0said,\u00a0\u201cSystemic barriers and social prejudices\u00a0have long stifled the development of ethnic minority communities. This collaboration aims\u00a0to turn\u00a0challenges into opportunities. By equipping youth with skills, networks and confidence, we empower them to emerge as tomorrow\u2019s leaders in Hong Kong society.\u201d<\/p>

The parties will integrate their resources, expertise,\u00a0and strengths to dismantle the barriers faced by Hong Kong\u2019s ethnic minority communities in education and employment. This collaboration also aims to promote social cohesion, socio-economic\u00a0inclusion, and long-term community empowerment, thereby laying a solid foundation for a more equitable future in the city. The \u00a0initiative positions diversity and inclusion as driving forces of innovation and growth, further advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>
