{"id":5637,"date":"2017-02-28T10:53:12","date_gmt":"2017-02-28T04:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hsu.edu.hk\/?p=5637"},"modified":"2024-01-16T12:06:21","modified_gmt":"2024-01-16T04:06:21","slug":"1720-stra-20170302105601","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hsu.edu.hk\/en\/1720-stra-20170302105601\/","title":{"rendered":"Lectures on Business and Legal Translation (3)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mp-row-fluid motopress-row mpce-dsbl-margin-left mpce-dsbl-margin-right\">\n<div class=\"mp-span12 motopress-clmn  mpce-dsbl-margin-left mpce-dsbl-margin-right\">\n<div class=\"art-article\">\n<p><strong>28 February 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The third talk of the MA lecture series was held on 27 February 2017 and its title was \u201cNovice Court Interpreters: Sheep among Wolves?\u201d Our speaker, Mr Stephen Yeung, is a former Deputy Special Magistrate with the Judiciary of HKSAR.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Yeung started the lecture by introducing the legal system and court system in Hong Kong. He explained that interpreters are indispensable because the law guarantees the right to a fair trial to everyone.
