Mr Chong Tien Siong, Editor-in-Chief of Ming Pao Daily News, gave a talk <\/span>in<\/span> the SCOM Talk Series 26 on 28 September 2016.\u00a0<\/span>MrChong introduced the background of Chinese language<\/span>s<\/span> and dialects. He illustrated the difficulties <\/span>and opportunities <\/span>faced by Chinese newspapers and<\/span> analysed\u00a0<\/span>the future development of printed media with reference to statistics and his management experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Chong <\/span>u<\/span>s<\/span>ed<\/span> Ming Pao Daily News as an example<\/span> to<\/span> emphasi<\/span>s<\/span>e the <\/span>professional<\/span> values and attitudes <\/span>such as impartiality, fairness and objectivity <\/span>that should be possessed by news organi<\/span>s<\/span>ations and reporters.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the Q&A session, Mr Chong answered students\u2019 questions in detail. Both a<\/span>cademic members and<\/span> students benefited from the inspirational words from Mr Ch<\/span>ong.<\/span><\/p>\n
