To recognise the winning teachers of the HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards (2021-22), the Centre for Teaching and Learning hosted the second sharing seminar \u201cTransformative Teaching and Learning: from Virtual Reality to Metaverse\u201d on 9 March 2023, co-facilitated by Dr Eugene Wong, Associate Professor from the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management, and Dr Clio Wu, Assistant Professor from the School of Communication.<\/p>

Dr Wong delivered a talk titled \u2019Metaverse in Education: from Immersive Experience to Holistic Learning\u2019, to share how the latest VR technologies can benefit academics and students. He also cited different daily life, as well as teaching and learning examples to showcase the power of VR technology.

The discussion was followed by Dr Clio Wu’s talk on, \u2019Using VR Technology in News Reporting Training\u2019. She shared how VR Technology is used in news reporting training and classes. She discussed how through immersive technology, learning and practicing processes for students have become more interesting and exciting as they feel like they are on site where news is being reported.<\/p>

The seminar was attended by nearly 30 academic members, who were all amused by the changes brought about by VR technologies and immersive virtual learning experiences.<\/p>
