With the theme \u2018Craft Your Sustainability\u2019, the Career Planning and Development Section of the Student Affairs Office held its annual “HSUHK Careers Fair 2023”, the first physical Careers Fair since the COVID-19 outbreak, in late February. Over 200 exhibitors from more than 40 industries participated in the Fair, a record high number since the launch of the annual fair. HSUHK students were presented with more than 2,000 local, GBA and overseas full-time and internship opportunities.<\/p>

At the Opening Ceremony of the Fair, Professor Simon S M Ho, President of HSUHK, spoke with enthusiasm as he said “HSUHK students have always been favoured by many employers. I believe it is because the University has always been close to the needs and development of the market in terms of talent development. Through the Careers Fair, I hope that our students can learn more about the skills and knowledge needed in the current and future employment market, such as the concepts and development of ESG (Environment, Society and Governance), so that they can build a \u2018sustainable career\u2019 in this fast-moving world.”<\/p>

In addition to receiving the latest job information offered by various companies during the Fair, HSUHK students also participated in different seminars. A variety of featured seminars were organised, including two ESG seminars to help students learn more about the application of ESG in the career prospects. Experts were also invited to share employment development information in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, Mainland China, as well as overseas regions, to ensure students keep abreast of the market trends. In addition to the physical fair, students could also have live chats with HR representatives on the virtual exhibition platform, participate in video interviews, and attend recruitment webinars. The Fair received an overwhelming response close to 3,000 students joined the physical and virtual exhibitions, and over 42,000 pageviews were recorded across the virtual fairground.<\/p>

The HSUHK Careers Fair 2023 has received strong support from various employers, who were all eager to recruit suitable HSUHK talent to join their team. Exhibitors were even more delighted that the Fair was organised and attended physically, which enabled them to meet with, and reach out to more students.<\/p>

Ms. Judy Cheung and Mr. Neil Tang, HR Representatives of UNIQLO HONG KONG LIMITED, said, \u201cWe are happy to meet with students from diverse study backgrounds. Also, apart from senior year students, we are able to meet with many junior students who are actively seeking for internship opportunities. For graduate recruitment, we hope to attract talents who are receptive to change, able to grow and create results. Our company also provides numerous overseas development opportunities, so that employees have a certain degree of competitiveness in the international arena.\u201d<\/p>

Ms. Jenny Ma, Senior Talent Acquisition Officer of Hong Kong Technology Venture Company Limited (HKTV) said, \u201cHSUHK students are eager to learn about different job opportunities. Apart from meeting different students, we were glad to speak with the HSUHK\u2019s professors and share our feedback on different collaborations. The culture of HKTV advocates direct, action-oriented, and vitality, and we hope to attract young and passionate students to join HKTV.\u201d<\/p>

Ms. Chloe Ng and Ms. Vivian Fung, Senior Recruiters of Deliveroo, remarked that “We are impressed that many HSUHK students we met today already have a future career plan in mind. Through this fair, we are hoping to recruit energetic university students with good problem-solving skills to be part of our future team. Deliveroo places strong focus on the use of data in its operations, so we\u2019re especially looking for students who study Data Science and those who have a talent for mathematics.\u201d<\/p>

The Student Affairs Office at HSUHK is immensely pleased to have connected employers with HSUHK students through the Fair, and will continue to foster close collaborations with different industry partners to provide more career opportunities to HSUHK students.<\/p>
