Ms Siu-ping Chan, Secretary General of the Council, introduced the background of this visit. Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of SCOM, then delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting that various sectors were in need of communication professionals, and that graduates had a wide range of career paths. An information briefing on SCOM\u2019s programmes was conducted by Ms Glacial Cheng, Senior Lecturer of SCOM. The visiting students were interested to learn about the unique features of SCOM\u2019s programmes. After the briefing, participating students were divided into small groups and, led by SCOM teachers, took turns to visit SCOM\u2019s facilities and watch introductory videos.<\/p><p>The points of interest covered by the facilities tour included the SCOM Cinema and TV Production Centre, the Radio Broadcast Training Centre and the Multimedia Training Centre. SCOM teachers served as tour guides to explain the features and operations of the different facilities, and invite students to try using different state-of-the-art teaching and learning equipment, such as professional studio cameras, mobile cameras, audio equipment, sound recording microphones, anchor equipment, and computers installed with professional multi-media production software. The students were all very excited about experiencing such sophisticated equipment for the first time.<\/p><p>A fresh graduate of SCOM was also invited to share her university life during her studies at SCOM to enable the participants to learn about SCOM from another angle. The students seized the opportunity to ask many questions and mingle with SCOM teachers. At the end of the event, all visiting students received a souvenir pack specially prepared by SCOM.<\/p><p>SCOM believes that through such activities, secondary school students can better understand SCOM. The students also agreed that having more knowledge of SCOM could help them better plan their tertiary studies in future. <\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align:
