The School of Communication (SCOM) held its third teaching sharing seminar of AY2021\/22 on 10 March 2022. Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean; Professor Ronald Chiu, Associate Dean; and most full-time and part-time teaching staff members including Part-time Lecturers of SCOM were present to share their teaching experiences gained in Semester 2 of AY2021\/22. The sharing session was moderated by Dr Chi Kit Chan, Associate Professor. Dr Chan said that the University\u2019s programmes emphasised interdisciplinary modules, which were mandatory to all students. Teachers who taught interdisciplinary modules found that students sometimes lacked interest to fully engage in studying subjects in other disciplines. As such, teaching and learning challenges might arise. In response, the participating Professors and Lecturers shared the challenges they faced and their ways of tackling them, including tactics to arouse students\u2019 interest in acquiring knowledge of different disciplines and to encourage students to appreciate the value of studying interdisciplinary modules. After rounds of enthusiastic discussion and sharing, all teacher participants felt inspired. They all agreed that seminars of this kind were useful in leading to continuous improvement in the teaching quality of SCOM.<\/p>
