Then, each of the five School Deans welcomed the new academic staff to the HSUHK family by introducing them one by one to the audience. The morning session of the first day\u2019s induction programme was enriched by a sharing by Professor Y V Hui, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), and Dr Tom Fong, Vice-President (Organisational Development), on \u201cTeaching, Research, Student Learning at HSUHK\u201d. Their sharing highlighted the effective teaching and learning practices at our University, \u00a0funding and supports for teaching and research, graduate attributes \u201ciGPS\u201d, and Residential Colleges System. <\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: snas-serif, serif; color: black; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\">In the afternoon session, Dr Eugene Wong, Director of Virtual Reality Centre, and Dr George Ho, Associate Director (E-Learning) of CTL, delivered a seminar entitled \u201cOnline Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies\u201d.\u00a0 Both of them shared their precious experiences on online teaching and learning with some useful e-learning tools. <\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: snas-serif, serif; color: black; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\">On the second day of the induction programme, a forum on \u201cCreating a Welcoming, Positive and Productive Learning Environment\u201d, a workshop on \u201cOutcome-based Teaching and Learning (OBTL) and Criterion-Referenced Assessment\u201d, and a seminar on \u201cLearning Programme Accreditation and Quality Assurance\u201d were organised for new academic staff. To facilitate new academics\u2019 understanding of the administrative units, a new session was added this year. Ms Mary Yeung, Head of Human Resources, led the session of \u201cOverview of Administrative and Academic Support Offices at HSUHK\u201d. Participants raised questions and took part <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%;\">enthusiastically <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: snas-serif, serif; color: black; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\">in the discussion with senior management members.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
