9 November 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

The HSMC G-20 2017 was organised by the Provost\u2019s Office in association with the Hong Kong-America Center.\u00a0 It was a College-wide inter-programme activity that spanned two months from Sep to Nov 2017. The activity culminated in the Summit Simulation held on 9 Nov 2017.<\/p>\n

More than 100 HSMC students from different undergraduate programmes participated in the simulation to play the roles of G-20 leaders (20 member states) to deal with global issues. Each team represented a G-20 member state and students played the roles of Head of State, Foreign Minister, Finance Minister and Environment Minister. An \u201cHSMC G-20 Online Discussion Platform\u201d and an \u201cHSMC G-20 Facebook Page\u201d were established to facilitate discussion and communication among the 20 teams. Through the G-20 activities, students gained a good understanding of international affairs and developed skills in multilateral negotiations, public speaking, team building strategies and diplomacy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Summit Simulation (9 Nov 2017)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The G-20 Summit Simulation was held on 9 Nov 2017. The 20 teams representing the G-20 member states gathered to discuss global issues and negotiate for a joint communique. It involved the participation of about 120 HSMC students from different undergraduate programmes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
