An international symposium titled \u201cThe Bright Side and Dark Side of Consumer Ethics\u201d was organised by the Department of Marketing on 8 and 9 Jun 2017 with support from the Research Institute for Business. The event was kicked off with a speech by President Simon Ho. At the symposium, various topics about consumer ethics were covered including counterfeit goods, green consumption and corporate social responsibility. Participants enjoyed the very thought-provoking presentations, extensive networking with scholars and practitioners in different fields, as well as exchanges on new ideas and good practices.<\/p>\n

Eight distinguished local and international speakers (including Professor Judy Zaichkowsky from Simon Fraser University, Professor Ian Phau from Curtin University, and Professor Fue Zeng from Wuhan University) presented their researches on various aspects of consumer ethics. With the support from the Executive Development Centre, senior executives and seasoned entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries including communications, retail, catering, banking, IT, media and environmental protection took part in three practitioner-sharing sessions on the second day of the symposium. Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics (APJML) has extended a call for papers related to the Symposium theme, which will be published in a 2018 special issue.<\/p>\n

The two-day symposium attracted over a hundred international and local scholars, senior executives, and HSMC staff and students.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
