The Department of Supply Chain and Information Management is delighted to share with you that our students have achieved outstanding results in two competitions, which were open to Hong Kong tertiary education institutions. This was the first time they participated in these two competitions.<\/div>\n

1. CILTHK Case Competition 2016<\/b><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The theme this year was “Innovative Ideas for Logistics and Transport Industry in Hong Kong”. Among all submissions, SCM students Chan Kuan U Luis, Wong Tsz Kin Jimmy and Kok Man Kit Steve took the champion. \u00a0The first and second runner-ups were students from PolyU and HKUST.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n
The award is awarded to full-time undergraduate students (bachelor or sub-degree) studying in tertiary education institutions in Hong Kong. The focus of their studies must be transport \/ logistics or related discipline. Submissions can be on individual basis or a group of maximum 4 members.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
There are two rounds of assessments based on the below criteria.<\/div>\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
(1) Innovative<\/td>\n\n
Idea of the project, its uniqueness and innovativeness<\/div>\n<\/td>\n
30%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
(2) Idea Description<\/td>\n\n
Project background, objectives, whether the project gives a comprehensive description<\/div>\n<\/td>\n
20%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
(3) Research<\/td>\n\n
Project implementation in other countries, its application status and future trend<\/div>\n<\/td>\n
20%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

(4) Feasibly and Implementation<\/div>\n<\/td>\n

Whether the project is applicable in Hong Kong transport\/logistics sector<\/div>\n<\/td>\n

2. CILTHK FYP Award 2016<\/b><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This award is open for undergraduates to highlight excellence in their Final Year Projects relating and contributing to the development for Best Practice and\/or Innovation in the field of logistics or transportation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Two Grade “A” team reports from related bachelor programmes were invited to be nominated for the Award. This year, a total of 10 nominations came from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Hang Seng Management College. Eventually there was only one award, and the winning team was from HSMC. \u00a0The team and project details are as follows:<\/div>\n
