Renowned artist Professor Yuen Siu-fai was invited to deliver a live demonstration of the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage item \u2014 the narrative singing art of Naamyum. This event showcased HSUHK students\u2019 reinterpretation of the renowned musical <em>Man of La Mancha<\/em> through a play reading. Master Li gave a live demonstration of the art of shadow puppetry which enfolded craft, sculpture, music, play, history, etc. The students and staff of HSUHK learned about the art from multiple perspectives and examined the exquisite craftmanship with great appreciation. data-contrast=\"none\">Cantonese Opera Right or Wrong \u2013 Your Choice!<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202f on campus on 10 October 2023. The drama, presented by One Table Two Chairs Charitable Foundation, brought out the aesthetics, artistic and moral values that are appreciated in Cantonese opera. They performed one of the classic scenes from You Long Xi Feng. Individual audience was invited to vote for<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> a version of ending that he\/she preferred. The students enjoyed the Cantonese-opera experience in this interactive and fun-filled programme.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">This programme was part of the Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme 2023 of the Audience Building Office of Leisure and Cultural Services Department.<\/span><\/a><\/p><p><\/p><p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-57844 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hsu.edu.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/IMG_0005_370-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"312\" height=\"208\" \/><\/p><p><strong><span class=\"TextRun SCXW199490123 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-HK\" xml:lang=\"EN-HK\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199490123 BCX0\">Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble performs at HSUHK<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsu.edu.hk\/en\/windpipe-chinese-music-ensemble\/\">Arts@HSUHK brought the musical theatre,\u00a0<em>Music at the Dai Pai Dong<\/em> to campus on 19 September 2023. The programme introduced Lingnan music through the narration of local food culture at a Dai Pai Dong. The Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble played a \u201cmenu\u201d of music pieces that delivered vivid Lingnan flavours through sound. Speaking of his experience, he said \u201cIt was my first time working inside a war zone as a photographer, and to see what the war did to people living there was an experience I can hardly put into words\u201d.
