Logistics and Transportation Division (HKIE LTD) organised The HKIE LTD Best Students Papers Awards 2021 with the theme of \u2018Green and Smart Logistic\u2019, thereby promoting innovative ideas and research on the design and implementation of sustainable logistics and transportation systems in the territory. The papers submitted by the participating students were reviewed and assessed by a Judging Panel appointed by HKIE LTE Award Committee. After several rounds of selection, including documentary assessment and video presentation, Mr Manviel Tam of the BBA (Hons) in Supply Chain Management (BBA-SCM) Programme won the competition with his paper entitled \u2018Design of Robotic Process Automation Solution for Cold Chain Management\u2019. Each team was allocated a transport and logistics-related topic on the event day. The team-based intensive competition created a simulated business reality where students had to resolve a workplace problem. This year, the CILTHK, collaborating with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), held the Student Day on 2 Mar 2019 at CUHK. Seven teams formed by students from tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and Macau took part in this competition. Participants were required to analyse and formulate solutions to problems relating to transport and logistics under time constraints.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">A five-member team, consisting of Chan Siu Long, Poon Wai Sze, Luk Hoi Yan, Chan Chin Ki and Kwok Tin Yi, was coached and supervised by Dr Eugene Wong. Among all submissions, SCM students Chan Kuan U Luis, Wong Tsz Kin Jimmy and Kok Man Kit Steve took the champion.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">The first and second runner-ups were students from PolyU and HKUST.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">The award is awarded to full-time undergraduate students (bachelor or sub-degree) studying in tertiary education institutions in Hong Kong. The focus of their studies must be transport \/ logistics or related discipline. Participants were required to produce a prototype and a marketing plan for their business ideas within 168 hours and to give a presentation to the panel consisting of start-uppers and representatives from major technology companies and government officials.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>The team created a webpage entitled \u201cTravelUs\u201d which serves as an agency to let travellers select their preferred tour guide in advance and tailor-make their itinerary in order to explore the local culture of Hong Kong.
