After graduating from the university, he joined Ernst & Young as a member of the assurance team and had the chance to be involved in an IPO project. Though he was graduated from BBA – CG programme, he thought he was equipped with the essential accounting knowledge to be a junior auditor. After her graduation in 2019, she stayed and worked as a staff accountant. Currently she is working in the entity compliance and governance service team and has participated in several global engagements. She would like to give special thanks to the lecturers and professors in HSMC that inspired her to start her dream as a company secretary. Jay has leveraged his marketing knowledge and skills to creatively design unique membership schemes for his clients. As he recalls, HSUHK\u2019s marketing programme has helped him build a strong knowledge foundation with broad-based training and internship opportunities, which allowed him to gain hands-on experience as a student.\n\n\"LAM<\/a>\n\n<\/a>\nTOP<\/a>\n

CHAN Kit Wai, Kitty<\/h3>\n\n

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) \u2013 Accounting Concentration\n2019 Graduate\nTax Associate, Ernst & Young<\/h4>\n\nBeing an HSUHKer, Kitty found the University provide her a myriad of opportunities, including internships and exchanges, which broaden her horizons as well as enrich her business knowledge. She worked as an intern at the Financial Control Department of The Bank of East Asia in London in Year 3 summer, giving her more confidence and enhancing her communication skills.\n\nShe graduated in 2019 with accounting concentration and is currently working at Ernst & Young as a Tax Associate in the APAC regional team, who coordinates with worldwide countries’ team members. She has started to attempt the QP exam under the 2019 Early-Bird Programme and aims to become a Certified Public Accountant in the near future. She would also like to thank all the professors and teachers who helped her along the way. She will never forget their hard work and inculcation, as well as the people who guided and supported her throughout the study at HSUHK. HO Keung Chun, Kenny<\/h3>\n\n

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) \u2013 Accounting Concentration\n2019 Graduate\nTax Associate, PwC<\/h4>\n\nEven though Kenny is an accounting major student, he has tried a lot of jobs from different industries to find out what he really wants to go with the path in the future. Thanks to the Student Affairs Office, he interned at several overseas organisations during summer, for example, a financial institution in Singapore, HKETO in Berlin, and a company in Australia. He has also worked as an audit intern in PwC as well and he thought that he would become an auditor, just like many accounting students. However, a twisted point, the Tax Debate Competition by TIHK, changed his mind. During the competition, HSUHK professors were very caring and supportive. After going deeper into this aspect, he changed his application from “assurance” to “taxation” with PwC. With QP scholarships from HKICPA, Kenny’s goal is not only to become a qualified CPA, but also to keep going with his profession in \u00a0the taxation field.\n\n\"HO<\/a>\n\n<\/a>\nTOP<\/a>\n

CHUNG Hiu Nam, Jessica<\/h3>\n\n

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) \u2013 Accounting Concentration\n2019 Graduate\nAssurance Associate, PwC<\/h4>\n\nAfter graduating from HKHSU, Jessica has joined PwC, one of the Big Four Accountant Firms, as an Assurance Associate.\n\nJessica enjoyed the internship programmes in different industries during the summer vacations in her university life. Those opportunities allow her to understand the cultures and real-life practices of different firms. In 2018 summer, Jessica worked as an intern in the PwC assurance team. Life is full of surprises, and things almost never go as planned. However, the flexibility in HSUHK’s programme allowed him to explore other academic disciplines, such as computing and philosophy, from where he finds his interests but knows nothing about. Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Financial Analysis\n2019 Graduate\nDiscretionary Portfolio Management, BNP Paribas<\/h4>\n\nAs a graduate of BBA (Honours) in Financial Analysis, Tim joined Discretionary Portfolio Management in BNP Paribas in quick succession. Mesmerised by the financial market since his first investment at the age of 18, Tim decided to completely immerse himself in the markets. Tim just passed the CFA Level I, and is about to complete the rest of the CFA programmes. After graduated in 2018 with accounting concentration, she entered one of the international audit firms, Ernst & Young, as a staff accountant. Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Financial Analysis\n2018 Graduate\nHedge Fund Investment Analyst, Spruce Light Asset Management Company Limited<\/h4>\n\nTeresa is so glad to be the first batch graduate students of BBA-FA programme with First Class Honours. The BBA-FA programme, which combines both academic theories and hands-on practices equipped her with a solid understanding of financial knowledge and practical technical skills. Also, the university offered a lot of support by granting her various scholarships.\n\nDuring her university life, she also strived for a good balance between studies and internships. Her internship experience in ICBC International, Bloomberg and an accounting firm equipped her with the knowledge of investment banking as well as financial advisory.\u00a0 It also embedded her with detail-minded personality as well as to train her as a fast learner.\n\nTeresa also represented the university to join the CFA research challenge, which improved her quantitative and financial modeling skills and trained her as a good team player. Meanwhile, she had worked as an intern in a bank in Tokyo and travelled to Singapore and China to have cultural exchanges, which benefited her a lot in both knowledge and insight. She is thankful to have received the first-class education with a focus on finance in HSUHK. The programme has equipped her to excel in a wide variety of jobs and given her excellent prospects for employment and career development. The BBA-BAF programme is well-designed and has equipped him with solid fundamental knowledge and skills in banking and finance. Professors are friendly and willing to communicate with students. He appreciates their enthusiasm for teaching and good advice on career planning.\n\nIn the workplace, Benson always does research and analysis using Bloomberg in the dealing room. One of the takeaways throughout his 4 years of studies in HSUHK is the experience of using Bloomberg in the Financial Trading Lab. Lee Yiu Chun, Alexander<\/h3>\n\n

His work involves not only Hong Kong tax but also China tax, and sometimes tax in other countries. He is thankful that teachers in HSMC gave him many supports in learnings during his time in HSMC. These practices allowed him to apply the knowledge in real life situations.\n\nAlso, he was able to pass the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) examinations when he was still studying. The modules he took at HSMC were closely related to the curriculum of the CFP examinations which provided him with the necessary skills and knowledge in order to obtain this professional qualification before graduation.\n\n\"TO<\/a>\n\nMoreover, the company visit to Bloomberg, arranged by the Department of Economics and Finance was very impressive. After the company visit to this multinational fin-tech firm, he felt more confident in working in the finance industry when he graduated.\n\nTo sum up, there are two lessons learnt from his time at HSMC.\n\nFirstly, we should learn to understand, accept and improve ourselves. Five years have passed and when he looks back, the BBA programme provided him with sound knowledge, and also built his confidence. He realised that we cannot let one failure determine our future. What is most important is that we learn from our mistakes and always strive for improvement.\n\nSecondly, it is important to plan for the future.
