Dr. Daniel Mo has over fifteen years of experience in research and consultancy, enabling companies to achieve best-in-class global operations. As an active researcher, he serves as the principal investigator on various research projects. Some of his research has been published in international journals such as IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, International Journal of Production Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, International Journal of Production Economics, and INFORMS Journal on Applied Analytics (formerly Interfaces), among others. He received his PhD in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), following several years of industry experience. During his postgraduate studies, one of his research papers was a finalist for the Kayamori Best Automation Paper Award. He was also a two-time recipient of the prestigious Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fellowship for his MPhil and PhD programs. Before joining the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), formerly known as Hang Seng Management College (HSMC), Dr. Mo served as a lead analyst for an international company featured on the Fortune Global 500 list, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President. He made impactful contributions across various industrial sectors, including diversified manufacturing, third-party logistics, community transportation, and aftermarket services, among others. Since 2011, Dr. Mo has held a Six Sigma Black Belt certification, leveraging his extensive industrial experience in these diverse sectors to provide quality management training to both managers and students. Dr. Mo joined HSMC to support the development of self-financed post-secondary education in Hong Kong. His commitment to excellence in teaching has been recognized with teaching excellence awards from both HSMC and HSUHK.
