GEN4001 - Capstone Project on General Education

Module Description
This module is designed for Year 3 or Year 4 students to integrate general education experience with the major study by conducting an inter-disciplinary small group research. It is designed to gather 2 to 4 students from different disciplines to complete a guided research project that demonstrates the attainment of the cognitive goals of the GE core program, mastery of the skills developed throughout the undergraduate studies, and the knowledge/skills acquired through study of a major.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. identify the characteristics and methodologies of inter-disciplinary research

  2. conduct an independent study on a selected political, educational, economic, social and cultural issue

  3. integrate the knowledge acquired from undergraduate studies to examine real world situations

  4. communicate and present ideas and results of the work with clarity and precision
