Module Description
The module is designed for students who have completed Japanese I. It aims to enhance students’ proficiency in communicating verbally in Japanese with an emphasis on vocabulary development and basic language functions. Upon completion of this module, students will be able to use Japanese to exchange information about time and place, the existence of things and their actions and feelings. A general introduction to the Japanese culture is also integrated throughout this module.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. acquire at least 200-250 Kanji (漢字) including combinations and variations

  2. read and write some basic sentences/articles through better understanding of Japanese grammatical structures and rules

  3. engage in conversations with advanced forms of verbs, adjectives, and adverbs

  4. write short paragraphs about Japanese culture
