Chartered Financial Analyst Talk


A Chartered Financial Analyst Talk organisedby Economics and Finance Department was held on 6 November 2014 and it was attendedby over 150 enthusiasts. Our guest speakers were Mr Neil Govier, Head ofEducation Asia-Pacific CFA and Mr Alan Lok, Director of CFA.

Neil started his talk with an overview onthe CFA Institute and provided insights into the professional standards. Healso briefed students on details of the CFA Programme and highlighted thepathway in achieving such credential. Neil also presented 5 helpful tips tostudents for passing the CFA examination, and at the same time, demystified the5 myths of the CFA examination. On the second part of the talk, Alan shared hisfruitful working experience and emphasised on how ethics plays an essential role not only in the CFA programme but in the financial world as well. It was a great afternoon with bothguests’ delivery of insightfulyet knowledgeable talks to bothstaff and students.
