SCOM Talk Series 33: The Development of Corporate Sustainability in the Greater China Region

31 October 2018

Mr Brian Ho, Partner of Climate Change and Sustainability Services of Ernst & Young, gave a sharing on corporate sustainability in the Greater China Region on 31 Oct 2018.

As corporate sustainability is an emerging industry and a rather new concept that many people are unfamiliar with, Mr Ho started off by introducing what he does as a corporate social responsibility consultant. He then shared with the audience his experience of working for leading Chinese corporations in Beijing in the past. During the Q&A session, Mr Ho answered questions from students and explained how he managed to strike a balance between sustainability and profitability when working for the corporate clients, a crucial issue which professionals in the field often struggle with.

All attending staff and students were inspired. They gained a much better understanding of corporate sustainability and what the job entails.

Dr Sarah Zhao, Assistant Professor of School of Communication, was the MC of the talk and the moderator of the Q&A session.
