Professor Gilbert Fong Chee Fun was Awarded the Medal of Honour

Professor Gilbert Fong Chee Fun, the Provost of Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, is committed to promoting the development of theatrical arts and arts education in Hong Kong.

Professor Fong, the first Professor from self-financed institution in Hong Kong, received the Medal of Honour from the Chief Executive of HKSAR, Mrs Carrie Lam at the 2018 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony on 27 Oct 2018.

As one of the pioneers of drama study in Hong Kong, Professor Fong published Hong Kong first proceeding “香港話劇論文集” about Hong Kong drama and founded a cross-strait four regions event “Chinese Drama Festival”.

Professor Fong also hosted “Arts at HSMC”. A series of programmes included music, performance arts, drama, dance, painting exhibition, etc. enriched artistic life of students and teachers.
