Module Description
This module provides students with professional knowledge on property and liability insurance. The roles, benefits, and regulations as well as key operations of property and liability insurance company are introduced. This module also covers key product features and policies of several common lines of personal and commercial insurance, including but not limited to auto, homeowner, marine, and commercial liability insurance. Compliance, professionalism and business ethics will also be discussed.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. understand property and liability insurance and related regulation, professionalism and business ethics as well as financial performance;

  2. describe and explain key property and liability insurance operations, and calculate premium based on rate manual;

  3. explain and analyse personal insurance policies and coverages; and

  4. explain and analyse commercial insurance policies and coverages.
