The School of Communication Organised 12th Academic Salon

The School of Communication (SCOM) invited Dr Lin Wei Kuo from the School of Communication of Fu Jen Catholic University (Taiwan) to share on the topic “Inoculated Spiral of Silence” in the 12th Academic Salon on 24 Aug 2017.

Dr Lin deliberated on his previous research paper ‘The Model of “Inoculated Spiral of Silence”: Improving the Theoretical Construct of Inoculation in the Spiral of Silence’. He further explained the relationship between inoculation and the spiral of silence theory, and the revised model of “Inoculated Spiral of Silence”.

Faculty members of SCOM showed great interest in the topic and actively participated in the discussion with Dr Lin on the model and its application to the new media and different political contexts.

The salon encouraged further academic exchange between SCOM and the School of Communication of Fu Jen Catholic University.
